Name of Scholarship:  Drug Free Challenge Scholarship  For under supported students living in single parent households.

Partnership for Responsible Parenting is accepting applications from outstanding students in the community for the purpose of college or specialized  training following high school graduation.

  • Scholarship amounts ranging from $500-$5,000
  • Awarded to students participating in the Drug-Free Challenge
  • Is based on the following criteria:
    • Completion of the Drug-Free Challenge-REQUIRED
    • Living in a single parent household-REQUIRED
    • School/Community Services-20%
    • Community Service-20%
    • Financial need-40%
    • Under supported status-40%
The application, as a minimum should include the following:

  1. * See below.
  2. Letter of recommendation, limited to 3, from school officials (teacher, counselor, and/or administrator), one of which may be from outside of the school, such as a minister or other religious leader, employer etc…
  3. A certified copy of the student’s transcript (verified by school attendance clerk is sufficient).
  4. A list of all school activities participated in during the year.
  5. A list of community involvement by the student.
  6. A statement of financial need, including pages 1 and 2 from the parents’ or guardians’ 2005 income tax report, Form 1040, signed by both parents’ or guardians’.
  7. If the student has a career in mind and has taken steps in a particular direction toward that career, please include this information.
  8. A brief interview will be held with each finalist.

* Single Parent/Head of household/Guardian must provide documentation that the student is supported by less than $500/month in child support, or is owed in excess of $5,000 in unpaid back child support.
